Gwen Stefani on Blake Shelton divorce rumors, balancing No Doubt and motherhood

Gwen Stefani is still very much “in love” amid rumors she and husband Blake Shelton are getting a divorce.

The No Doubt frontwoman, in a Nylon interview published Tuesday, quieted all speculation of a forthcoming split.

“The truth is I am in love with my best friend,” Stefani, 54, said.

However, the singer admitted that she is still affected by insecurities and “overthinking.”

“In my own relationship, even though I know the truth of what’s happening today, you still create drama in your own mind about your insecurities and what might happen,” she told the outlet

That feeling did result in something positive: the pair’s recent duet, “Purple Irises.”

“I had been going through those times where you’re questioning: ‘Oh my gosh, am I just getting older? Am I cute?'” she said. “I was in that phase of the relationship with Blake and getting paranoid.”

Stefani later addressed the rumors, professing she and Shelton, 47, would not let anybody “get to” them. “When you’re in love and have truly aligned values, nobody can get to us,” the “Hollaback Girl” singer said. “You can say whatever you want to say about our relationship — I mean, a week ago we were getting divorced again or something. It’s just lies. The truth is the truth, and we know what that is…”

Stefani and the “God Gave Me You” singer have been together since 2015 when they both coached on “The Voice.” They later tied the knot in 2021.
